JPMorgan reported that its Security and Resiliency Initiative (SRI) is up and running fast. Its investments now include rocket parts, hypersonic missiles and a gold mine.
In its first year, JP Morgan reported that it financed and facilitated more than $230 billion in transactions and committed $5 billion of its original $10 billion equity allocation. Todd Combs, formerly one of Warren Buffett’s portfolio managers at Berkshire Hathaway, has signed on to manage the investments. He reports directly to Dimon and serves as a special adviser on strategic issues. An external advisory council, chaired by Dimon, includes Jeff Bezos, Michael Dell, Ford CEO Jim Farley, General Dynamics CEO Phebe Novakovic, Condoleezza Rice, Robert Gates, Paul Ryan and retired senior military commanders.“ The collective experience of our External Advisory Council is a real force multiplier for SRI,” said Dimon.
